FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Prospector and Striveworks are partnering to launch OpenMine.AI, a central hub for all mining data and AI needs. The joint solution combines Prospector’s deep textual data in the geology and mining domain with Striveworks’ proven MLOps capabilities for unstructured data, computer vision models, and natural language processing (NLP).
The platform will offer a single point for companies to access, analyze, and apply AI to publicly available and proprietary datasets, including public filings, assessment and environmental reports, drill core log datasets, and geospatial data. As a first for the industry, users will have the tools to fuse their data with public data, regardless of format, enabling broader insights and inquiries. OpenMine.AI will leverage the existing Prospector platform, an organized and searchable interface that contains publicly available mining and mineral data. Powered by Striveworks’ end-to-end machine learning operations platform and industry-leading computer vision model infrastructure, the OpenMine.AI platform will provide flexibility in hosting, data connectivity, and extraction scalability.
OpenMine.AI offers mining and exploration companies of all sizes the ability to generate reliable business insights from combining large volumes of public and proprietary legacy data at scale. The goal for OpenMine.AI is to lower the barrier to using AI in the mining industry, allowing users to get from data to decisions to discoveries—faster.
The platform unlocks the tremendous value in untapped legacy data stored in public and proprietary databases using modern data processing and structuring methods. OpenMine.AI represents a global shift in how explorers can find, fund, and build the mines needed for the low-carbon future.
The initial focus areas are document- and text-classification models, metadata extraction, computer vision models for document pages with PDF documents, computer vision models for geophysical data, metric extraction, and large language models for mining and mineral data. Users will have access to existing computer vision and NLP models developed by Prospector for localized use and fine-tuning. Advanced users and data scientists can test and evaluate custom models, compare performance, and select optimal models for use. Looking ahead, these models can be applied to any dataset, beyond the geology sector, using the basic concept of aggregating data on a SaaS platform and using AI to generate an output fit for users’ unique data needs.
